Getting issue in wordpress Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons. by default wordpress not allow .xls format file to upload in media library, getting this issue today with my client blog. I’m describe the Simple solution for Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons problem, is if you have access of cPanel. (refer Problem screenshot below)

Simple 1 step solution is for issue Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

Edit the wp-config.php file in public_html

Ad below code under the define function

define(‘ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS’, true); 

Note : Copy above code from comment box, placed under the post.

and save the file, (refer screenshot below).

Now try the file uploading once in wp panel, sure it will be success. hope your problem is solved. 🙂
